Safety and security mapping applications

At times we have to deal with some crimes that happen against our colleagues. Sometimes its a real bear to keep all of the information straight. Lately I have starting mapping our incidents! This really helps with trends analysis, giving up to date risk information to people, keeping them away from dangerous areas, etc. Just to give you an idea of how helpful this can be, here is an example of a map of incidents here. I hope you find it as useful as I do.

Always be prepared...our new gas masks!

Like I said, safety is a big part of my job...really the only part! So, in order to be prepared for any emergency we are looking into getting some gas masks in case of poison gases near our office. I really like the following bid that we just got, although something tells me I may have to look into some possible copyright issues...

People enjoy visiting the place I live and work

People really like to visit us here where I live and work. There is a lot of natural beauty and people are nice. Just to give you a little taste, here is a fun-loving couple enjoying one of the many breathtaking sites we have to offer!

Staff photo!

I work with some really great folks here! Here we are at a staff retreat a few years ago. I'm taking the picture, so unfortunately I am not in there! We are very lucky to have a very experienced staff that has seen a lot.

New group photo!

Here's a photo of our newest group in training. I've had this picture for a while, so it is good to be finally getting it onto the internets. We really hope that they will be a force for change in the work we are doing.

A little about my job

I really feel very lucky with the job I have here in *******. I get to live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world doing something that I really enjoy. In a nutshell I try to keep people that come from the ** to work in ********* safe. A large part of the work involves giving training to people that are newly arrived in country. Another big part of my job involves responding to crimes and problems that affect our colleagues. Sometimes this part of the job is the most frustrating. We also do a lot of work here to prepare for emergencies and natural disasters. When you are in a country like ******** you have to be ready for anything!
